There aren’t many things that come in groups of eight: batteries, paper towel rolls, Spanish currency (pieces of eight), and the original Crayola Crayons. It’s so easy to forget that for thousands of years children grew up without Nintendo, Baseball, and toys like Crayons. Also this week, my favorite fashion show Gossip Girl came to its finale. I have spent the last 6 years salivating over Blair and Serena’s closets and almost wishing I lived in New York (Obviously if I did, I wouldn’t live like them, so what would the point be?). Here is an homage to some favorite GG moments in color:
Red: Valentino Dress
Leighton Meester looks fashion forward in this red mini leopard print dress from Valentino. Can I borrow this for a Christmas party? Come on Blair 🙂
Orange: Oscar de la Renta Ballgown
Leighton Meester donned this flaming Oscar de la Renta frock in Paris in season 4, 2010. While we wondered whether Chuck would return home to New York after being scorned by Blair, we also thought she should look much happier to be wearing such a masterpiece.
Yellow: Reed Krakoff Colorblock Coat
Spotted: Blake Lively in this all-season Reed Krakoff colorblock coat in season 5, 2012. This is a great way to pair a pop of unexpected color with something more neutral.
Green: Kaelen Ombre Coat
Blake Lively sported this amazing green ombre coat by Kaelen in season 5, 2012. Definitely wish I could add this to my closet.
Blue: Ellie Saab Gown
This list wouldn’t be complete without Blair’s stunning Ellie Saab gown worn for her 2.5 second wedding to Chuck in the series finale. Makes me wish I was getting married all over again, the detail on this dress is gorgeous and her headpiece is to die for.
Purple: Chuck Bass Suit
Ed Westwick has got to have one of the best character voices on television. His smoky, sultry Chuck Bass fits with his perfectly tailored suits that make you just want to sit and watch. This royal three-piece is no exception.
Brown: Sequin Miniskirt
Blake Lively makes me want to go to the gym. She is always showing off her 5’9″ frame and I would love to feel as confident as she does in all these miniskirts. This brown sequined version is a new fall/winter staple.
Black: Sequined Tuxedo
Even Chuck Bass can’t resist a little bit of sparkle. With this season 2 throwback, Ed Westwick prooves sequins aren’t for girls-only in this subtly glam tuxedo.
So as we say goodbye, what is your favorite Gossip Girl fashion moment?
