Thanks to my favorite ’80s icon, or Frankenstorm if you prefer, Adam and I moved up our trip to Turks & Caicos. We were supposed to have a lovely, relaxing Sunday: packing at a leisurely pace, playing with Daphne until she was so sick of us she wanted us to leave, and setting up a nice clean house to come home to.
Instead, we spent Saturday afternoon frantically running around on last-minute errands (hello new tank top from Old Navy for $0.47), speeding through loads of laundry, and getting the kitchen squared away. The rest would have to wait for our return.
I do have to say though, adding on an extra day to our stay at Club Med and swapping our flights was easier than I thought it was going to be (minus the 28-minute hold time, thanks JetBlue). Bonus: we got upgraded to even-more-legroom seats and a 5-second jaunt through the security Express Lane. Definitely not complaining, especially considering on our way to/from our honeymoon last year Delta made us sit across the aisle from each other.
Clearly getting up at 4am has some drawbacks: using my laptop as a vanity. I do love flying through JetBlue’s T5 at JFK. It’s such a civilized flying experience. After munching down my chocolate croissant and pomegranate smoothie (with soy protein and IMMUNITY!) I’ll take a pit stop at the spa to finish the mani/pedi that got derailed in our race to beat Hurricane Sandy to the airport.
I’ll be setting up a few posts that have been in the queue pending a few hours of free time for you to enjoy while we’re away. I hope you all have a safe and happy beginning to your week and an enjoyable Halloween. We’ll be thinking of you between Rum Runners and Margaritas!
