Happy day after Memorial Day! I hope you all had a brilliant long weekend, and took a moment to remember the thousands of men and women who have given their lives in the name of freedom. My family has been sending members to the armed forces since the Revolutionary War, and I am always grateful for those who serve.
While we didn’t get to spend the weekend barbecuing or in the Hamptons, we were incredibly productive. We moved into our new house!
THANK YOU so very very much to our friends Eric, Lela, Kathryn and Marcel for giving us their hands, a few hours of their Sunday, and their engineering/problem solving skills to help us move. We are so very grateful and can’t wait to have you guys over (once the place is tidy!). Bonus points to Marcel for picking up a roll of 15′ x 13′ carpet (winding me on accident!) and carrying it into the house.
We have barely moved a muscle since. Between the flurry of cleaning all week to get the house ready to packing up our apartment (quite haphazardly) and loading then unloading a 17′ UHAUL, we are totally beat.
When we were ready to pack up the truck, Adam realized he hadn’t pulled out any socks. So he had to catapult over our pile of suitcases full of clothes and bags full of pillows and blankets to find a pair.
Clearly my J.Crew boots had to be packed up carefully. And yes, both of those buckets are filled with my beauty products. No, that’s not all of them either!
Finally we finished unloading the car, got our bed put together and a bathroom clean. We didn’t bother putting the drawers into the dresser, just put the TV on top. We caught up on last week’s Game of Thrones and had a good long sleep.
This week we’ll be busy trying to get the house in order, and we’ll start to feel settled in no time! Look for lots of photos coming up of what we’ve been working on the last couple weeks as well as the projects we’re working on! I’ll try to get back into posting regularly, but I’m sorry if I can’t quite yet!
