While we were painting the kitchen over the last few weeks, Daphne managed to get in on the action – and get covered in bright turquoise paint. She had it on her face, on two legs, along the edges of one ear, and a nice big splotch on her neck. This caused a brief panic, as we were trying to go to bed after a very long day of painting.
What’s the solution?
A bottle of olive oil, a handful of paper towels, some scrubbing and pulling. That’s it. You can also use butter/margarine, shortening, or anything that is super slippery. If you have some finger nails you can grab the paint off the hairs and that will help speed the process along.
The only thing I don’t know is how well this would have worked on the oil-based Kilz primer that I had stuck to my hair for weeks. It’s finally all coming out, so I didn’t bother oiling up my hair. Though I’m sure it would be a great conditioning mask!
