Hey y’all! Hope everyone is having a great week. I’ve had quite a bit on my plate lately (and am totally stressed out to prove it) so this week is a little light for me on the blog. I’m going to a yoga class tonight and making a big list of things I’m going to accomplish over the weekend. One of those is a list of updates to the house, what we’ve accomplished and what is still left to be done. Hopefully I can get some awesome photos to share too!
Today, I have a pretty nifty list of spaces that are on my radar right now. I hope they give you some inspiration too!
First up, who wouldn’t love this French chateau? The architect who bought it even wrote a book about the renovation process. Going to France with my mother is high on my travel list. I would love to fit in tours of the grand homes that dot the countryside. I just hope they all come with geese.
In the New York Times recently, one author described her love affair with dining rooms – and the lack there of in most of the homes she has lived in. Finally she found one and put up her dream wallpaper, Bibliotheque, only to figure out she’d chosen the wrong colors. This is probably my worst nightmare with our house, especially as we’re still at the budget-conscious stage of home ownership. Kudos to her for tearing it right down and putting up a new color to make her room look cozy instead of cramped.
Entrepreneur Rebecca de Ravenel is a decorator after my own heart. Her home in NYC features lots of cheery blues, pops of fun, international flavor, and tons of comfy places to sit. Plus she is not afraid of wallpaper – I may or may not have already fallen in love with her bathroom. The gallery on VOGUE has even more to love. Seriously, I just want one of everything.
Head over to L.A. and you’ll find amazing inspiration for a chic and girly space without going overboard at Sugar Paper’s studio. I mean seriously, those bold black and white walls and bubblegum chairs are just the beginning. You’ll find ideas for every room in your house just looking at this creative space. It helps that their stationary collections are just as darling.
Finally we head to the 2013 Southern Living Idea House. I may be living in the North, but I’m a Southern belle at heart. I love how Southern homes feel warm, inviting, and yet still have lots of style. The Idea House is a perfect place to get ideas for how to bring more warmth and welcome into your home without overdoing it.
Have you seen any spaces across the Interwebs lately that have your inspiration wheels spinning?
