A friend posted this quote a few weeks ago, and it’s been stuck in my head ever since. There is the obvious: that being in a high-pressure situation or group of situations will help you to come out the other side stronger, more beautiful, and more valuable. Then there is the other way to take this saying: if you want to create a diamond you must have (or make) pressure.
My life isn’t terribly stressful at the moment. I like my job. I have an adorable puppy to keep me company while I work from the couch and through Dawson’s Creek. I’m getting a little more social interaction now that I’m recovering than I did before. And not being able to go anywhere means we’ve hit our house savings goals for this month.
So what about my other goals? Writing, networking, and writing? I have to apply the pressure myself if I want those goals to harden and shine.
What are you doing to help keep some pressure on your goals to turn them into diamonds?
