Buying Ann Taylor

Ann Taylor is one of those brands that is working on branding itself to a younger, hipper crowd. I love popping in there because their suits are well cut and on-trend, plus you never know what you could find on their sale rack. I’ve gotten great deals like pink satin flats for under $20 and a super soft LBT for less than $10.

I’m signed up for AT’s emails just in case a good coupon comes through or I can convince Adam to up my shopping budget (pretty please!). This week they have been having lots of one-day sales on different items. Today’s is 30% off full-priced dresses (code= GETDRESSED). This is the image they used in the email:jen darling by j.k.h. nelson

Pretty dresses, but doesn’t make me want to buy. The images are too small, there are too many things to look at, and I can’at see any of those pieces fitting into my wardrobe. Though I’m sure lots of other women do.

On Monday, the deal was for shoes:

Now this image makes me want to buy shoes. Not only do I want my closet to look exactly like this (and one of the reasons I’m pushing for a nice big on in our new house), but with code=NEWSHOES you get 30% off the first pair, 40% off TWO PAIRS.

I’ve now got my eye on the Perfect Colorblock Patent Leather Block Heel, the Hadley Striped Canvas Loafers and Printed Leather Loafers, the Shanna Suede Ballet Flats and Colorblock Ballet Flats, and the Gwen Lace Up Leather Heel. I was hoping to find that pair of teal wedges in the photo, but they’re either sold out online or not yet available. Something to watch for.

What promotions have you seen that has either made you want to buy or not buy?

I’ve been seeing ann taylor a bunch at the mall and i’ve been interested in buying more of there clothes….and the Limited too, they’ve had alot of great deals too! like 40% off everything, 50% off all regular priced items, and 50% off dresses. Its been a struggle to not go to the stores because I want to go shopping really badly however i’m forcing myself not to…to save up for other things that I need/want but someday I hope to have the budget and money to go shopping more often and I do need to update my wardrobe a little bit…maybe this summer…
