JCrew Fall 2013 Preview

As the world waited for Baby Cambridge yesterday, a very exciting distraction came through my inbox: J.Crew’s fall preview! And I am super excited that there are pieces I would totally buy. Sometimes the new seasonal items are very trendy, very “What Would Jenna Lyons Wear,” but if you push the excess of gingham aside, there are some pretty yummy pieces.

Women: Collection Cashmere Button-Back Sweater in Acorn Sand Snow Colorblock / Crystal Leaves Earrings in Classic Gray / Andie Chino in Neon Coral

I am so obsessed with this new take on color blocking in this collection sweater. If only it wasn’t so pricey, I would snap this baby up in a heartbeat. These crystal leaves earrings are a perfect take on gray for fall, not too muddy and not too dark. And who could say no to chinos in coral? I just hope that the color is more like what’s shown on the model than the swatch on the website.

Men: Cashmere Shawl Sweater in Heather Toffee / Broken-in Chino in 484 Fit in Vintage Cabernet

I’ve recently gotten Adam into wearing sweaters, and casual Fridays at work gives him a good outlet. This shawl sweater is a perfect brown and looks super snuggly. I’m not sure if he’ll go for a slim pant chino, but this Cabernet color is a good way to break him into a rainbow of colorful pants.

I took a peek at the Crewcuts collection on a whim. I don’t have any children to buy them for, but I fell in love with these tees. If only clothes had been so stylish when I was a kid. I would have lived in this Gemologist tee, and I’m digging this edgy take on the color blocking trend for boys.

Take a look – what are your favorite pieces in the fall collection?
