Talk Derby to Me

This weekend is the 139th anniversary of the “greatest 2 minutes in sports” aka the Kentucky Derby. Even if you can’t make it to Churchill Downs, grab a Mint Julep and cheer on the race. Just make sure you actually make Mint Juleps and don’t just drink straight bourbon. That didn’t work out so well a few Derby’s ago… Who knew muddling mint could be so hard!

Here’s my inspiration for a classic, effortless Derby look!

Looking to go comfy and classic? Grab a white Tee and pair it with a super flirty skirt. Brooks Brother’s Dainty Floral Print Skirt is a slightly bohemian choice, while Lilly Pulitzer’s Tate Skirt in neon adds just the right feminine touches. jen darling by j.k.h. nelsonNothing says Derby like a Polo. Pair with one of the season’s hottest geometric skirts, like Vineyard Vine’s Spiral Whale Margo Skirt or Brooks Brother’s Knit Pierced Skirt.

I can’t wait to host our own Derby party next year at our new house! Make sure you don’t forget your Derby hat. Bonus points if it’s monogrammed!
