Suburban Sunrise

The other morning, Adam came in from his walk with Daphne excited. He’s been an absolute darling the past few months while I’ve been less mobile, getting up and taking care of her every morning. On this particular morning, he’d taken our new camera out and practiced on a gorgeous sunrise.

While I was driving to and from work, my Instagram account had filled up with glorious sunrises that seem to appear more mornings than not out here on the edge of Amish country. It might be the only thing I miss about living here if we don’t have that kind of open view in our new neighborhood.I couldn’t keep Adam’s photos to myself, the colors are amazing.

The outline of the winter trees remind me of a desert landscape. Perhaps this is how a sunrise over the Sahara might look if you added an elephant and a pair of giraffes slurping up the leaves with their purple tongues. jen darling by j.k.h. nelson jen darling by j.k.h. nelson jen darling by j.k.h. nelson jen darling by j.k.h. nelson jen darling by j.k.h. nelson

I love seeing the peek of color on the hoods of the cars out in the parking lot. They ook like tubes of color waiting to be experimented with. And no, I didn’t edit these at all, except to resize and crop a bright cloud of fog out of one. These colors will definitely give me some inspiration and help me push through to the weekend.

On an otherwise, very dreary morning in Minneapolis…this post and pics brightened my day and gave me hope for the sunrises that are bound to come. I think. I pray.

Thanks for putting a bounce in my step!
