Scotland: James Bond and Shetland Ponies

I must admit, I’m not feeling terribly fashionable today. I’ve spent all of 2013 living in leggings, t-shirts and hoodies, and I can’t wait until I can finally put on a pair of jeans and go to the mall. Small things.

Even if I’m not getting gussied up much these days, these adorable Shetland ponies are.

I’ve written a lot of about sweaters lately (here, here and here) but I never thought I’d be writing about ponies in sweaters. You have to admit, your bleak winter day just got a bit brighter thanks to Visit Scotland’s Year of Natural Scotland. And while Scotland may be equally bleak this time of year, it certainly makes you want to go visit the land of LED sheep herders and James Bond. If only Skyfall was a real place.

We think that somewhere along the way part of my father’s family moved from Scotland to Ireland, where they joined branches with a line of extinct Irish nobility. I just hope when we do make it to visit Scotland these ponies will have gotten fresh cardigans.

What do you think of Scotland’s new campaign?
