My last 7 weeks on the couch has stirred up my wanderlust. We haven’t spent that long in once place in years. It seems like every couple of weeks we’ve been jetting off to one place or another. The last time I sat idly by was two and a half months in Paihia, New Zealand. At least I was lounging on the beach, spending a day here and there sailing, and escaping from Snowpocalypse.
Then this morning I came across a collection from the Vogue archives. From a Victorian bicycle ride in 1894 to speed boating in 2011, this collection shows travel over the decades in all its glamour. If only people still dressed to fly like they did in the 1950s and 1960s. My high school statistics teacher told me to take flying lessons once. While I think she was trying to make a bigger point, it would be fun to sit behind the wheel at a few thousand feet and see how it feels.
From Paris to China, this archive makes you want to grab a Louis Vuitton trunk, fill it with vintage Dior and Chanel, and take a trip around the world.
